The Wedding

Father and Bride rehearsing for the wedding! beautiful wedding wreath huh?

The girls get down and boogie.

The ladylike bridesmaidss with the special girl. Amazing to believe she is 4 or 5 months pregnant.

Great legs, but i think Andrea might be signaling something...

This was to prove how much bigger the fiancé's finger was than Jamie's. big.

Well, one of the most unique things that happened to me while i was in the states visiting was my cousin Jamie's wedding. We are a week apart in age, yet eons apart in where the universe seems to be taking us. Thats okay. But it just so happened that her wedding date was congruent with my visit to the states, and Jamie had asked that I be a bridesmaid in her wedding. Thus, Kristin in a yellow dress. It was a lovely wedding (fricken freezing cold though) but alot of the family came up (and down) to attend (which meant i got to see relatives i wouldn't have seen otherwise).
The pictures... as a bridesmaid I was able to take pictures of the background that others weren't privy too (I was also the only one wandering around with a digital camera in the bride party)
So the pictures are from the rehearsal, and the day of the wedding (before, and in the limo).

Visit to Rome Pt2

Well, i figured that the first post was so chock full of images, so i needed to start another post to show all the remainder images. After the first couple of days of wandering, I was able to get in touch with a local Roman through my couchsurfing community. Franchesco was very nice and was incredibly good about showing me about, telling me how to properly pronounce LaVazza, and helping me out with riding the metro. (I had refused to ride it because of all the stories of tourist's things being stolen) We walked by the Vatican and the Spanish Steps (there were too many tourists to hang around for long), and than made our way back to our meeting place so he could head home. Short and sweet, but it was good fun. (I don't have pictures of that...but i do have pictures of an art installment of trashmen in the piazza that we met in) Unfortunately, I wasn't bothered to read why they were there...
The bead shop I came across by a double-take kinda thing. It was so colorful in there and i knew i had to leave with something...but i wasn't sure what and there were so many beads and so many colors that i am sure i spent between 30minutes and an hour in there just circling, circling the store and peering into everything. The store owner was very nice and a have a cool (very heavy) glass pendant for a necklace. The archangel is modern art that decorates the doorway of an ancient structure. I didn't have time to pop in b/c i was headed the other direction and had to meet francesco.
I had to stop and take a picture though. I had to stop and take a picture of this too:

Going to Rome

Our spring break is four weeks long, and for two of those i planned on visiting the states (finally). What to do for the other two?
Well, I wanted to visit italy, and my flatmate Payman talked me into Rome, and the cheapest flight out was from London. So I packed my bags, and asked Dave and Jean if they would be willing to let me stay for a bit. So a week in London, and than i caught a bus to the Luton Airport. And if you take a look at the pictures from the airport to Marrakech, it was basically that scene all over again. I didn't get much sleep because i was frozen stiff from the floor. (and nervous someone would steal my things). Rome was marvelous.
Because of a whirlwind visit in highschool I had already seen all the major monuments so this time i decided to just experience Rome (I wandered...alot) I trailed random people (I didn't have any particular plans) And got lost! Not surprising, i know, but handy when you don't plan on being or getting anywhere in particular. The first day I wandered down to the Roman Forum.
When i looked at the map, I was surprised to find how far I had walked without even realizing it.
Admittedly, I didn't take that many pictures while in Rome, because I decided I just wanted to experience the moments and not pause them with the push of a button. So the pictures are few and far between. I had so much fun wandering and ducking into random alleys that i forgot i was going to see art and churches. I mean, I did pop into a couple of churches (it was selfish though...I needed to sit down for a spell).

Catching up real quick

I am going to first go
through what has happened in Leeds for the past few days, like my job and just overall socializing. And what a weekend looks like. So I got the job at the non-permanent Ice Rink in Leed' Millenium Square. It lasted from the middle of January through to the first week of March. I was a 'general assistant'.
This meant that i got to take smelly shoes in exchange for Ice Skates, and than get back those now-smelly skates in exchange for their shoes. It was fun. But i did meet some incredible people, and have finally made some English friends. Cool people. And I was earning money (the real plus). This will also mean that it will take a bit longer the money I have to run out.
(And that i now have to really start working on my homework!)

For a weekend,
Philip (the young german) suggested that we take a trip to London for the war rally. Vivi and another boy from our building decided to join him for a visit. Unfortunately, Vivi had recently started a job, and the walk was too much for her feet, we had to take a break for her feet (and our stomachs :P). We took a four hour bus ride from Leeds to London (it was five when we got into the city-meaning we left at 8am). We started in Hyde Park and than made our way through the city to a square (somewhere) And than from there we got right back onto the bus and headed back to Leeds. It was a long day. And the one of the strangest part was the fact that Vivi just HAD to go out to the club that night. It wasn't fun. The dj was rather bad.

Otherwise...It was really fun and great to experience such an interesting time. Being in London was quite nice, but rather exhausting.
