Catching up real quick

I am going to first go
through what has happened in Leeds for the past few days, like my job and just overall socializing. And what a weekend looks like. So I got the job at the non-permanent Ice Rink in Leed' Millenium Square. It lasted from the middle of January through to the first week of March. I was a 'general assistant'.
This meant that i got to take smelly shoes in exchange for Ice Skates, and than get back those now-smelly skates in exchange for their shoes. It was fun. But i did meet some incredible people, and have finally made some English friends. Cool people. And I was earning money (the real plus). This will also mean that it will take a bit longer the money I have to run out.
(And that i now have to really start working on my homework!)

For a weekend,
Philip (the young german) suggested that we take a trip to London for the war rally. Vivi and another boy from our building decided to join him for a visit. Unfortunately, Vivi had recently started a job, and the walk was too much for her feet, we had to take a break for her feet (and our stomachs :P). We took a four hour bus ride from Leeds to London (it was five when we got into the city-meaning we left at 8am). We started in Hyde Park and than made our way through the city to a square (somewhere) And than from there we got right back onto the bus and headed back to Leeds. It was a long day. And the one of the strangest part was the fact that Vivi just HAD to go out to the club that night. It wasn't fun. The dj was rather bad.

Otherwise...It was really fun and great to experience such an interesting time. Being in London was quite nice, but rather exhausting.

Fallen off the earth

vivi and i before a flat party (jen did me over)
Well, its basically been a month since I have seriously communicated or even attempted to get back into the internet. The biggest reason for this disappearance was first putting off the inevitable after finishing the last blog, but than i caught a nasty cold that seems to be going around (literally two weeks ago), and i have finally started to dig myself out of this hole.
fotis and philip pig out on fotis' last night
School has started. I am only taking three classes this semester but i am excited about what they will be like. I have a Art history class on females within art (more conceptual than memorising art), a screen printing course, and finishing up a project that i chose for myself in design (creating a few mediums to educate the public on global warming to submit to a competition).
Unfortunately, due to this evil cold, I managed to get laid up on my first days of classes, and got behind in the assignments. Apparently not the end of the world, i just have to wake up for 9am classes once a week now. (oh the pain!)
There are new flatmates, as most of the old ones have moved out. I hope t
o have pictures of most of them by my next blog. Jennifer from France, Payman from Germany, Febreej (?!) from France, two Indians with shortened names of something like Teg and Pej (i'm bad i know). Vivi, Philip and Pascales are still here, but the feeling on the floor is different.
Last night i met Liz from California, and she may be moving up to our floor because she is having difficulty with getting along on her floor. She is v
ery nice and a super super senior (finally chose her major in year 8 of undergrad).
A few pictures! Before i got sick, i was on a baking binge and made lots of sweets and food. I di
dnt take pictures of everything, but i have made: coconut macaroons dipped in semi-sweet chocolate, apple crumble muffins, cornbread, triple-threat ginger cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate potato chocolate chip muffins (request from work), no-knead bread, meyer lemon teacakes, lemon chocolate chip cookies, and last (but definitely not least) i made myself oat bran muffins from a recipe i found on the internet from the cheeseboard.(a disgustingly healthy batch) that i whipped up and have individually wrapped in my cupboard to throw in my bag for something healthier than a bag of crisps. (thank you mum-and no i am not sure if that is sarcasm)
There was alot to catch up on, so i will post the pics and leave it at that! (next-and soon i promise-an update on my job(s)!)

Nights out

I have had crazy homework to do. So I am at the library til late. But I always have my camera on me. So I took the picture of the outside of parkinson hall
and the inside of Brotherton library...its round...and old...and really really cool.
Otherwise I go out with my flatmates: Dennis, Vivi and fotis. Fotis got his picture taken with these two. We arent sure if they were collecting for charity or their personal beer fund... And than I have been experimenting with recipes. This night we had Ethiopian ginger vegetables. I didnt boil them long enough b/c I didnt factor in the suckiness of our electric stove- so a bit aldente but still good. And than I made it again today! Oh my goodness SO GOOd!
(I have also started buying an organic local veggie box which has really good roots and vegetables) -made it taste even better probably.
